Okaloosa County’s Major Kevin Kirkpatrick graduates from FBI National Academy

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Major Kevin Kirkpatrick graduated from the 298th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, the agency announced.
Kirkpatrick spent 10 weeks training alongside law enforcement officers from across the United States and other countries, studying advanced leadership and communication skills. He also completed the Yellow Brick Road physical fitness course, the agency said.
“Graduating from the FBI National Academy’s 298th session is something I’ll carry with me the rest of my career,” Kirkpatrick said. “Spending ten weeks learning alongside officers from across the country and around the world was an experience I never could have imagined, and it has made me a better leader.”

Niceville Police Department asks public’s help finding missing man

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man who was reported missing on May 24.
- Jason Christopher Coulthart was last seen leaving the College Condominiums at 100 College Boulevard in Niceville.
Coulthart is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.
At the time he was last seen, Coulthart was wearing a polo shirt of unknown color, khaki shorts and Nike shoes.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Niceville Police Department at 850-729-4030.

Human remains found near Stillwell Boulevard in Crestview, sheriff’s office investigating

Human remains were discovered Friday in an area near Stillwell Boulevard in Crestview, prompting a death investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene after receiving a report from individuals who located the remains, according to a Friday post from the sheriff’s office.
- The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information was available at the time of the announcement.

School bus driver arrested on DUI charge after reportedly backing into car with six children aboard

A school bus driver was arrested Friday on a DUI charge and six counts of child neglect after she reportedly backed an Okaloosa County School District bus into a vehicle stopped behind her in Crestview, police said.
Mechelle Prevoznik, 62, of Crestview, was driving the bus near the intersection of 8th Avenue and Ferdon Boulevard, also known as State Road 85, when the crash occurred at 1:35 p.m., according to a news release from the Crestview Police Department.
Six children were on the bus at the time. No injuries were reported, which police attributed to the low-speed nature of the backing accident.

Pensacola native Will Condon named CEO of Ascension Sacred Heart Health System

Will Condon, a Pensacola native who has spent the past three years as the city’s market president for Ascension Sacred Heart, has been named chief executive officer of the five-hospital health system serving Northwest Florida, effective July 1.
- Condon most recently served as interim market lead before being elevated to the system’s top job.
Born and raised in Pensacola, Condon said his family has depended on Ascension Sacred Heart for generations, and he considers it an honor to lead the health system in the community that shaped him.
“Ascension Sacred Heart has earned the trust of this community over the decades,” Condon said. “My role is to build on that foundation by growing the services people need here, close to home, and to make sure this region has access to care that rivals any major market in the country.”
