Three Okaloosa County communities will host Christmas parades over the next two weekends, giving families multiple chances to celebrate the season.

  • The festivities begin Sunday, Dec. 7 when the Main Street Crestview Association will host its annual Christmas Parade at 5 p.m. in downtown Crestview. This year’s theme is “A Storybook Christmas,” and the event will feature floats, marching bands and performers. Santa Claus will make an appearance along Main Street.

The following weekend, the City of Destin will hold its Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. The theme is “Seashells and Sleigh Bells.” The parade route begins at Destin Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive, then travels down Beach Drive and continues west on Harbor Boulevard to Stahlman Avenue. Spectators should stand on the north side of Harbor Boulevard to view the floats.

The Niceville-Valparaiso Rotary Club will also sponsor its annual Community Christmas Parade at 10 a.m. with the theme “Unite for the Holidays.” The parade will include the annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive, with proceeds supporting holiday meals for families in need and other Rotary community service projects.

All three parades are free.
