As of 10pm on Tuesday night, Hurricane Sally has made another slight jog to the east which now places the projected landfall between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama.

This places Okaloosa County within the Hurricane Warning area and we could see some hurricane force gusts along the immediate coast only.

“Sustained tropical storm force winds may move inland a bit and the likelihood for downed trees, limbs and power lines has increased some,” said Patrick Maddox, Okaloosa County Public Safety. “Our Storm Surge Warning rose only one foot, from 3-5 feet to 4-6 feet.”

Okaloosa will see heavy, persistent rain. The county has seen as much as 15 inches of rain (no rain gauges-radar indicated) in the Baker area, but areas with rain gauges show about 8 inches.
