The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Officein conjunction with Northwest Florida State College, will facilitate a full-scale active shooter exercise starting Tuesday, August 2nd at 9 AM at one of the buildings on the Niceville campus.

According to the OCSO, Deputies, Police officers, firefighters, multiple local and state agencies, and school personnel will be participating in the various exercises. Plans for the exercise have been in the works for months.

Additionally, School Resource Officers will also be training Tuesday at Bluewater Elementary School and Wednesday at the college.
