WM will suspend all residential and commercial services in Okaloosa County and surrounding areas on Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10, due to Hurricane Isaias, the company announced Thursday.

The suspension is due to the projected path and intensity of the hurricane, as well as additional uncertainties, according to WM.

The announcement applies to:

  • Okaloosa County
  • City of Niceville
  • City of Destin
  • City of Mary Esther
  • Cinco Bayou
  • Town of Shalimar

WM is asking residents not to place carts, yard waste, bulk items or other materials by the curb until after the storm passes.

Normal operations are expected to resume Monday, as road conditions safely allow, according to the company.
