Eglin Air Force Base Installation Commander Col. Chris Keithley updated a limited evacuation order Thursday to include evacuation zones in Walton and Escambia counties due to Hurricane Isaias, according to the base.
The update took effect as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The limited evacuation order applies to people ordered to evacuate by local civilian authorities.
The order now includes everyone residing in:
- Walton County Zones A, B and C
- Escambia County Zones A and B
- Okaloosa County Zones A and B
That includes service members, Department of War employees and their dependents, according to the base. Specific guidance is available through each person’s direct chain of command.
Travel and reimbursement
Use of the government travel card is mandatory for all official travel. Service members who do not have a card can get a cash advance from the 96th Comptroller Squadron and should bring their Common Access Card and a copy of the evacuation order, according to the base.
Service members and dependents are entitled to per diem and travel entitlements in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulation.

People who do not reside in the impacted zones are not authorized reimbursement under the order.
