Construction crews have been placing asphalt on the main travel lanes of Eglin Parkway as FDOT’s $11.6 million resurfacing project continues to make progress.
The Florida Department of Transportation said Tuesday that paving operations are moving forward along State Road 85 from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue. Much of the work is being performed at night when traffic volumes are lower, allowing crews to work more efficiently while reducing impacts to daytime travel.
Drivers may encounter temporary lane closures, reduced speeds, and construction vehicles entering or leaving the work zone.
The new pavement will serve as the foundation for the roadway’s final surface and pavement markings. Additional work throughout the corridor includes sidewalk and pedestrian crossing upgrades, new signage, and other roadway improvements.
The project, first announced in May 2024, is scheduled for completion in late 2027. Drivers should remain alert and use caution when traveling through active construction areas.
