Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park will host beloved PBS KIDS characters Carl the Collector and Clifford the Big Red Dog on Saturday, September 13, during a special WSRE PBS KIDS Day event.

  • The characters will greet young fans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Okaloosa Island marine park.

Carl the Collector, featured in the first PBS KIDS series with an autistic lead character, is a warm-hearted raccoon who pays close attention to detail and develops unique problem-solving ideas with his friends. The show premiered last fall.

Clifford the Big Red Dog, based on the children’s book series first published in 1963, follows the character’s adventures while inspiring imaginative play, kindness and empathy among preschoolers.

  • Beyond character meet-and-greets, children can participate in hands-on activities including arts and crafts and a scavenger hunt. Families can also enjoy the park’s regular attractions including dolphin and sea lion shows, animal exhibits and aquariums.

Gulfarium will operate during regular business hours and donate a portion of the day’s admission fees to the WSRE-TV Foundation. Park fees and information are available here.
