Highway closures planned for Eglin AFB testing next week in Okaloosa

The 96th Test Wing announced Wednesday that testing at the Eglin Test Complex on May 20 will close both highways between 9 a.m. and noon.

Drivers along Highway 85 and State Road 123 should plan alternate routes next week as Eglin Air Force Base conducts testing that will require road closures.

According to the announcement, the roads should not be closed for more than 90 minutes at a time, though there may be several closure periods within the three-hour window.

A backup mission date has been scheduled for May 22, also between 9 a.m. and noon, if needed.
