JVC Broadcasting announced last week that it has acquired four radio stations from Magic Broadcasting in Panama City, Florida, expanding the company’s presence in the Florida Panhandle.

  • The acquisition includes WILN-FM, WWLY-FM, WYOO-FM and WYYX-FM. The move creates synergy with JVC’s existing Fort Walton Beach radio cluster, according to the company.

John Griffo, current market manager of JVC’s Fort Walton Beach operations, will lead the newly acquired Panama City stations. Matt Stone, veteran programmer and current director of programming for JVC Fort Walton Beach, will oversee programming efforts.

“This is an exciting new chapter for JVC and for radio in Northwest Florida,” Griffo said. “We don’t see it as just expanding- we see it as an opportunity to continue what we have already been doing in the Panhandle: focusing on the local listener being the true client by bringing high quality, engaging and fresh programming ideas to Panama City.”

Stone said the company plans to bring its local approach to the Panama City market.

  • “We’ve been doing it differently and local in Fort Walton, and now we’re bringing that same vibe to Panama City,” Stone said. “We’re out to make radio fun again—live, local, and actually about the people who live here in PCB. Not just noise… get ready for something that hits home.”

JVC Broadcasting President and CEO John Caracciolo emphasized the company’s local focus.

“This isn’t a corporate merger,” Caracciolo said. “This is a local broadcaster investing in local communities. We believe in radio that serves the neighborhoods we live in, not just the bottom line.”

The company said it will begin transition and integration efforts immediately with no interruption to current programming. JVC plans to enhance local content and engagement in the Panama City market.

JVC Broadcasting is a locally owned, independent media company with radio stations in Florida and New York. The company operates stations in Fort Walton Beach, Ocala, Gainesville, Florida, and Long Island, New York.
