Okaloosa County School District to open second Employee Health Clinic in Crestview after first clinic logs 1,489 visits

The district reported 1,489 clinic visits over 12 months and 95% patient satisfaction. A second clinic in Crestview is projected to open in spring 2027.

The Okaloosa County School District will add a second Employee Health Clinic in Crestview after the Okaloosa County School Board approved the Marathon Health Services Agreement during its Sept. 28 meeting.

  • The second clinic is projected to open in spring 2027, according to the district. It will give employees and their dependents in north Okaloosa County another option for accessing healthcare services through the district’s partnership with Marathon Health.

The district held a ribbon-cutting for its first Employee Health Clinic earlier this year at the Okaloosa Technical College Fort Walton Beach Campus on Lewis Turner Boulevard. The clinic, operated in partnership with Marathon Health, serves district employees and their dependents.

Over 12 months, the clinic recorded 1,489 visits from district employees and their dependents, according to the district. Clinic data also shows a 60% employee usage rate, and 64.9% of patients are making progress toward their health goals.

The district said the clinic has a patient satisfaction score of 95%.

“The Employee Health Clinic is an important resource for our employees and their families,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers. “We are pleased to see employees taking advantage of this benefit and using the clinic to access convenient, timely healthcare. The positive response we’ve seen reinforces the value of providing resources that support the health and well-being of our employees.”

Many appointments are available the same day or the next day, according to the district. The clinic offers both in-person and video appointments, which the district said provides flexibility for employees working throughout the district.

  • Available services include annual physicals, lab work, prescriptions and other healthcare services.

Employees have reported that the clinic’s location, hours, staff and ability to provide multiple services during a single visit make accessing care more convenient, according to the district.

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Lindsay Maxey said the clinic is one way the district is working to provide meaningful benefits and convenient resources for its employees and their dependents.

“Our employees are at the heart of everything we do for our students, and we want to make sure they have access to benefits that are convenient and valuable,” Maxey said. “The participation and satisfaction we’re seeing demonstrate that employees are using the clinic and finding it to be a helpful resource for their healthcare needs.”
