Okaloosa County students explore careers at annual TeCMEN Industry Day

Students gain hands-on exposure to engineering, manufacturing, technology and aerospace industries during transformative career exploration event at Emerald Coast Conference Center.

Six local high schools participated in a hands-on career exploration event featuring engineering, manufacturing, technology and aerospace professionals at Emerald Coast Conference Center.

  • Students from six Okaloosa County high schools gained hands-on exposure to various industries during the 8th Annual 2025 TeCMEN Industry Day on Wednesday, May 14.

Baker School, Laurel Hill School, Choctaw, Niceville, Fort Walton Beach and Crestview High School students participated in the career exploration event. Students connected with professionals and explored future career opportunities by engaging with experts in engineering, manufacturing, technology and aerospace fields.

“TeCMEN Industry Day is an invaluable opportunity for our students to explore career paths and build connections with industry leaders,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers. “Exposure to these industries expands their horizons and helps them envision a future where they can thrive in high-demand fields.”

The event allowed students to develop a deeper understanding of diverse careers available and the skills needed to succeed in them. One Okaloosa Economic Development Council hosted TeCMEN and its partners for the transformative experience.

The Okaloosa County School District thanked the One Okaloosa Economic Development Council for providing students with the career exploration opportunity.
