The Okaloosa County School District and the Early Learning Coalition of the Emerald Coast announced a Summer Bridge Program designed to help Voluntary Prekindergarten students prepare for kindergarten.

  • Running weekdays from June 4 to July 7, the program will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at three locations across the county: Southside Primary School in the north end of the district, and Mary Esther and Edwins Elementary Schools in the south end.

The initiative focuses on strengthening early literacy and math skills for children who may benefit from additional preparation before entering kindergarten.

“Help your child take the first step toward a bright academic future — join us this summer for the Summer Bridge Program,” states the official announcement from the district.

Parents interested in enrolling their children should note that they will be responsible for providing transportation to and from the program locations. Enrollment is currently open.

The Summer Bridge Program represents a collaborative effort between the school district and the Early Learning Coalition to support educational readiness in Okaloosa County’s youngest students.

For more information or to register a child for the program, parents can call 850-689-7211.
