Okaloosa Technical College is accepting bids for four student-built tiny homes through Wednesday, with the deadline set for 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 19.

  • The homes are constructed by students from multiple programs, including Building Trades, Carpentry, Electrical and HVAC, as part of the college’s hands-on training approach.

“Okaloosa Technical College has been building these and similar houses for decades,” said OTC Director Jon Williams. “When it comes to skilled labor and trades, there is no better way to learn than by doing! Our students from multiple programs, including Building Trades, Carpentry, Electrical, and HVAC, collaborate to produce high-quality, functional homes that reflect their growing skills and professionalism.”

Williams said the tiny home project aligns with the college’s commitment to experiential training that prepares students for local workforce careers.

  • “OTC is deeply committed to hands-on, experiential training,” Williams said. “Our programs immerse students in real-world projects, preparing them for careers in the local workforce. These tiny homes not only provide practical learning opportunities, but they also benefit our community. Four lucky buyers will have the chance to own one of these exceptional homes, so bring your bids!”
