Mary Esther Cut Off resurfacing project completed in Okaloosa County

The $6.3 million project includes shoulder widening, sidewalk repairs, drainage improvements, traffic signal replacements, and new signage along the 6.9-mile stretch from U.S. 98 to Beal Parkway.

The Florida Department of Transportation has completed a $6.3 million project to mill and resurface Mary Esther Cut Off, from U.S. 98 to Beal Parkway, in Okaloosa County.

  • The project, which began in August 2023, covered a 6.9-mile stretch of State Road 393 and finished on schedule this spring.

Improvements included widening shoulders and opposing left turn lanes at multiple intersections throughout the project limits. Crews also completed sidewalk repairs and upgrades at pedestrian crossings to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

Additional work focused on drainage improvements, traffic signal loop replacements, and installation of new signage and pavement markings.
