Lane closures planned on Eglin Parkway this week for drainage work near Cinco Bayou

Nighttime lane closures are planned on Eglin Parkway near Cinco Bayou this week as FDOT crews install drainage structures as part of the resurfacing project.

Drivers on Eglin Parkway will encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures this week as crews install drainage structures near Cinco Bayou.

  • The Florida Department of Transportation said the northbound outside lane on State Road 85 between Yacht Club Drive NE and the bridge at Cinco Bayou will close intermittently Tuesday through Thursday between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The entrance to Laguna Landing Condominiums will be temporarily closed during the work. Residents will access Eglin Parkway via Yacht Club Drive NE.

The drainage work is part of FDOT’s $11.6 million resurfacing project on Eglin Parkway from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue. The project, which began in late 2025, includes sidewalk and crosswalk improvements, signalization upgrades, stormwater management enhancements, and new signing and pavement markings. It is scheduled for completion in late 2027.

The closures are weather dependent and may be delayed. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone, especially at night.

  1. Weather cannot be used as an excuse for any delays. That is just rubbish!
