Generations United Church has a new name, One Church, opening a new chapter for the congregation after 80 years in the community.

  • The change became official Sunday, Aug. 16. The church’s mission, identity and commitment to Niceville remain unchanged, according to the church.

“This is not a new church coming to Niceville. This is the same church beginning a new chapter,” said Tommy Brown, lead pastor of One Church. “Generations United Church describes who we are—a church of generations united. One Church describes not only who we are, but also why we are here. We are one church seeking to reach just one more.”

The new name reflects the church’s vision of seeing one more person encounter God, experience belonging and make a difference, according to the church. It also expresses the conviction that people from different generations, backgrounds and life experiences can find unity and purpose together through Jesus Christ.

  • “One Church is more than a name; it is a declaration of who we want to be,” Brown said. “No matter where you have been, what your story is, or whether you have ever felt at home in a church, there is a place for you here. We believe every person matters to God, and that means every person should matter to us.”

Members and guests can expect the same church family, worship, biblical teaching, ministries for children and students, and opportunities to grow in faith, build relationships and serve others.

Residents may have already noticed landscaping and facility improvements at the church’s Niceville campus, near the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 85. Updates to exterior signage, digital platforms and ministry materials will continue over the coming weeks. Worship times, location and regular ministry programming remain the same.

“We are deeply grateful for the generations of faithful people who built this church and carried its ministry forward,” Brown said. “The people who have helped shape our history have also been the greatest champions of our future. We honor their faithfulness by continuing the mission—loving people well, serving our community, and helping just one more person take a step toward Jesus.”

The community is invited to attend Sunday worship at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Additional information is available at VisitOne.Church.
