The Emerald Coast Science Center is accepting designer applications for its second annual Reduce, Reuse, Refashion eco-fashion show, a community event celebrating sustainability and creativity through wearable art made entirely from recycled and repurposed materials.

  • Presented by WM, the show will be held Nov. 14, 2026, at the Science Center. Designers can register until Oct. 17, 2026, or until the maximum capacity of 20 designs has been met.

The runway experience invites local designers, artists, students and creative teams to transform everyday discarded materials — such as plastics, paper, textiles and found objects — into fashion statements that highlight reuse and environmental stewardship.

The Science Center encourages designers of all experience levels to apply. Participants are challenged to create runway-ready looks using primarily recycled, upcycled or repurposed materials. Selected designers will showcase their work in front of a live audience during the runway event, where original designs will be judged by a panel of community leaders and creative professionals. Designers will compete for recognition and prizes while sharing the story behind their sustainable creations.

“Sustainability and creativity go hand in hand,” said Kate Fox, development coordinator at the Emerald Coast Science Center. “This event is about showing what’s possible when we rethink waste and empower our community to imagine a more sustainable future, through art, design, and innovation. We saw some truly amazing creations at our first show last year, and we cannot wait to see what our creative community members come up with this year.”

The Science Center is also seeking event sponsors, prize donors and creative partners to help bring the show to life. Sponsorship support contributes to designer awards, event production and educational programming tied to environmental awareness and hands-on learning.
