The Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women is accepting nominations from the community for the 2025 Women’s Hall of Fame, with submissions due by Thursday, July 10.

  • The Women’s Hall of Fame is sponsored by the OCCSW and held in conjunction with Women’s Equality Day. Nomination packages must be submitted online at occsw.com.

According to the commission, nominees should be individuals who volunteer their time to community activities in Okaloosa County, inspire others and act as role models, have a positive impact on community projects or programs, and whose life and works have made significant contributions to county citizens.

Nominees may be living or deceased and must be Floridian either by birth or by permanent residency. Only contributions made while living or working in Okaloosa County will be considered for Hall of Fame membership.

  • Candidates will be judged solely on the contents of their applications. Nominators are encouraged to include all information they consider relevant.

Pictures of women inducted into the Hall of Fame since 1995 are displayed at the Okaloosa County Administration Building in Shalimar, the Niceville City Council Chamber and in the Crestview Brackin Building.

Inductees to the Women’s Hall of Fame will be honored Monday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center on Okaloosa Island.

The OCCSW was established by the Board of County Commissioners in 1995 to recognize and honor women who have made significant contributions to the improvement of women and citizens of Okaloosa County. The commission’s membership includes appointments by county commissioners and representatives of various women’s organizations.
